Boulevard Brewing Company
Creating the Midwest’s premiere glass recycling business, Ripple Glass, wasn’t enough for the guys at Boulevard Brewing Company. They have been pioneers in adopting many ‘green’ principals into their business practices. The Brewery was the first manufacturing facility in Kansas City to claim ‘Zero Waste’ (or nothing to landfill), as well as the first business to install an electric car charging station. If this wasn’t enough, they have a ‘living-roof’ that uses plants to help insulate the building and capture rain water.
With all these eco-friendly initiatives it is no surprise that they were also one of the cities first businesses to take advantage of the great rebates offered by KCP&L to install Photovoltaic Solar Panels. Their newly built brewery addition was designed with window-wells oriented to not only capture natural light but to provide a perfect place to install solar panels. Working closely with their roofing contractor, Cromwell Solar was able design a custom stand-off and racking system to accommodate this unique installation. See the installation on KMBC News
“We had some unique adaptations, and had to design a custom standoff for the panels. Cromwell Environmental got a great design team in place working with our roofing contractor and were able to put together that package and deliver quite a stellar installation.”
