The Historic Chatham Apartments

The Historic Chatham Apartments

The East section of the solar array.

Completed in the Fall of 2011, the renovation of the historic Chatham Hotel was quite the achievement for The Landmark Investment Group who developed the project over the last three years. The President of Landmark Investment Group, Tony Krsnich, said that before the renovations the building was a blighted, well-known drug house, and one of the last safe-havens for vagrants in the freshly redeveloped Midtown area. After 20+ years of sitting vacant, the building received a major makeover, transformed into 42 low-income, senior (55 and older) apartments. If saving a historic building from a bulldozer wasn’t ‘green’ enough, Krsnich wanted to put the cherry-on-top by installing a 26kW solar array on the roof to power a large portion of the building’s common use electric needs such as: the hallway lighting, air conditioning, the workout room, and the TV room.

The project couldn’t have gone better, what a great looking solar array!

“All the way from the idea, to the design, to the installation and all the support there after; we couldn’t be happier with the project, the panels, and especially Cromwell Environmental. I know our general contractor, as well as our architect, and myself as the developer look forward to the next project we do with Cromwell Environmental.”
