Tryon Orchard
Interested in powering his family-owned and operated apple & peach orchard with renewable energy, Scott Tryon decided to contacted Cromwell Solar to learn about his options. After ruling out a wind turbine due to maintenance and inconsistant wind patterns, Tryon decided to use every inch of his barn’s East-facing roof to capture the sun’s energy using photovoltaic panels. This 16.4kW system would generate 100% of his orchard’s power needs and about 60% of his electrical demand between his home and business. A year later, after seeing the results of the first array, Scott decided to go all the way and add another 7.5 kilowatts facing south on the back side of his barn. Scott and his family are now powering 100% of both their home and business with electricity from the Sun.
